Last week the class received an exciting email from Eve,to ask if anyone would like to have the opportunity to take part in some work experience. I immediately replied, very excited about the chance of having some hands on experience on a T.V. set. I was more than surprised to receive an email back straight away, with the details of location and time. When I arrived I was greeted with the COVID supervisor who took my temperature and changed my mask for a medical one. We then went on to travel from the unit base to the set where we would be filming. At first there was a lot of waiting around, but I didn't mind as I was so pleased to be there. After a while I was allowed to go on the set to observe and help Eve; it was a privilege to work with a costume designer on set. I learnt so much about call sheets and the different roles of team members. When talking to one of the members of the team, the location manager explained his role which made me realise why there are so many people involved in making a T.V. programme. I found talking to the crew members valuable as they were all happy to talk to me about their roles and responsibilities. This was an experience I will never forget and one that will be very valuable as I go into this new module “Hobson’s Choice”.
