In this morning session, with Julia the lecturer, I used my paper drape to make a pattern ready to cut out from a piece of buckram for the next session. In the afternoon I was able to discuss with my lecturer my design ideas. I have decided to design an accessory for the character - Alice Hobson. She is Hobson’s middle daughter and I feel she has a more creative outlook on life. An example of this is where Alice is sat in Hobson’s shop knitting whilst her sisters are busy running the shop. When I saw the word knitting I felt a connection with Alice, as during the first lockdown I learnt how to crochet. I felt that I could incorporate this new skill within the accessory. After some consideration my final choice was to reuse a second hand bonnet from a charity shop and embellish the bonnet with crocheted flowers and leaves.
